District leadership

The district is headed by the L.C 5 chairman who is elected by the majority of the people in the district and is eligible for a five year term of office. The L.C 5 chairman is the political head in the district.

The District Council is the supreme body in the district and is responsible for policy making. The distict has 21 ddistrict councillors including the District Chairman.

The District Executive Committee comprises of five members; 4 males and 1 female.

The district has a Resident District Commissioner (RDC) who is the representative of the President of government of the republic of Uganda, and is charged with the responsibility of overseeing all the government political and development programmes.

The Chief Administrative Officer is the Chief Executive of the district. She is the head of the civil servants and is the accounting officer for all the government funds and programmes in the district.
